At Morning Star, we have chosen not to use any chemicals on our plants. Our potting medium is an organic blend of composted leaves, manure and vegetable compost, which we "build" over a 2 year period.

This process makes an incredible soil with natural nutrients and, as a result, we don't need to artificially feed our potted plants. Instead, we spray a foliar seaweed every few weeks to help the plants "smile"!

Unlike many greenhouses which pump fertilizers directly through their watering systems, we pride ourselves on our method of feeding our perennials primarily through a healthy soil base. An overfed plant goes into shock when a gardener cannot keep up the artificial diet that the greenhouse provided. By choosing not to over-fertilize, our perennials will not experience any shock if planted properly in a home garden.
